The viewfinder combines high image quality, long detection range, robust construction and advanced features to support the user in the field.
Advanced optics and thermal detection in AGM Varmint V2 LRF 50-384
At the center of the device’s operation is a VOx thermal detector with 384 × 288 px resolution and 12 μm technology, which features an exceptional NETD < 20 mK thermal sensitivity. Combined with a 50 mm (F1.0) lens, the device can detect a target at distances of up to 2,600 meters – making it an excellent tool for long-range operations.
The 4x optical magnification with digital zoom up to 32x gives great flexibility in observing both close and very distant objects. The user can take advantage of multiple color modes, such as White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot and Fusion, allowing the user to tailor the image to individual preferences and environmental conditions.
Integrated laser rangefinder and shooter assist functions
The AGM Varmint V2 LRF 50-384 is equipped with a laser rangefinder with a range of up to 600m, which accurately measures the distance to the target with an accuracy of ±1m. This is extremely useful for hunting or sport shooting, where accuracy is crucial.
The sight also features:
-
Picture-in-Picture (PIP) mode – allows precise targeting while simultaneously viewing the entire image
-
Tracking the hottest point – automatically locates objects with the highest temperature
-
Ballistic calculator – allows you to adjust the trajectory according to distance and conditions
-
10 target reticles in 4 colors – choose from a variety of styles to suit the situation
Image recording and connectivity
The AGM Varmint V2 LRF 50-384 thermal imaging sight can record videos and take photos thanks to 16GB of built-in EMMC memory. All recordings can be read over Wi-Fi by connecting the device to the AGM Connect app, available on Android and iOS.
In sleep mode, the device saves power, further extending its operating time. It is powered by a standard 18650 battery, which provides more than 6 hours of operation, and the USB-C port allows you to connect an external power source.
Durability and ergonomics of use
Thanks to its robust construction and IP67 rating, the viewfinder is resistant to dust, moisture and immersion in water. In addition, a drop test from a height of 1.5 meters confirms its mechanical resistance. The whole unit weighs just 585 grams (without batteries), making it one of the lightest thermal imaging sights in this resolution class.
Thanks to its compact design, the AGM Varmint V2 LRF 50-384 can also be used as a handheld monocular, which is useful for observing the surroundings before firing.
